A Bill of Materials (BOM) is an inventory of the raw materials and operations needed to manufacture a product.
The Bill of Materials module provides combined stock assembly, process costing function and is directly integrated with the Stock Module.
Also included as part of the legacy Sage Manufacturing suite, the Bill of Materials (BOM) module is available as a standalone extension of the stock module.
In addition, it is also used alongside the Sicon Manufacturing modules. It forms the core product structure, operational costs and routings (machines and people) for these Manufacturing process modules.

The Bill of Material (BOM) module is ideal for companies that do not require the full extent of manufacturing but are involved in light assembly.
Sage 200 Bill of Materials is a comprehensive inventory of raw materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts and components, as well as the quantities of each needed to manufacture a product. The module also has the facilities to include operational items, costs and timings such as labour and machinery.
You can use the Sage 200 Bill of Materials on its own for light manufacturing or basic assembly. However it can also be used in conjunction with Sicon Manufacturing modules such as Works Orders, Material Requirement Planning and Shop Floor Data Capture.
Although Sage retired their own Manufacturing suite in 2020, The Bill of Materials module is still very much a living breathing module and remains the backbone of all Sage 200 sites that run a production operation.
The module is massively functional and includes Extensive Version control allowing you to work on a prototype (checked out) model whilst the live version is still being used by the team; with a Full Change history included.
The Trial Kitting function allows users to quickly check the companies ability to fulfil an order and quick links to raise relevant orders.
