Outgrowing your Sage 50 package?

Sage 50 is a fantastic entry level accounting package and is by far the most installed and operated business software in the UK SME market today. However, company growth and development can put pressure on software, leading to a system that no longer matches your business requirements.

Common changes undertaken by Sage 50 customers include expanding their product range, increasing their employee numbers, placing more emphasis on trading with overseas customers, and increasingly complex business processes. Changes like these are the trigger to reassess a business systems and look at new ways of doing things.

Sage 200c is a business wide suite of software and is the natural upgrade route for Sage 50 customers who find themselves requiring a system which can manage more complex business processes and functionality.

Sage 200c is available both on premise and Online and can be purchased in a variety of ways including a low cost monthly subscription option.

Data Migration

Data is the number one asset to any business and is a key consideration with any system upgrade project.
At Smith Cooper, we have many years experience in helping Sage 50 customers migrate up to Sage 200 and are ideally placed to discuss and agree the best way to move your data into your new software.

As you would expect, there is a standard migration utility that will bring all of your data, including historical transactions, seamlessly across from Line 50 to Sage 200c. However should you wish to take the opportunity to perhaps restructure your chart of accounts or purge any redundant data (e.g. Dead accounts, old Stock codes etc) we have a range of standard import file formats we can provide.

Even going down this route, Smith Cooper can assist with the extraction and import of your data. This will allow you to cleanse your data whilst avoiding the tedious re-keying of static data such as names, addresses, stock codes, BOM’s etc. What’s more, as there is no limit on the number of datasets in Sage 200, we can still migrate Sage Line 50 in full as a second archive company for reference purposes.
